What Is a Retro Console?
It's a device that uses emulators to run games from older consoles, such as the NES, the Super Nintendo, or the PlayStation 1. The games are stored on a memory card, so you can play the classics on a single device, with no cartridges or discs.

Retro Handheld Consoles with 10,000+ Games

The R36H retro handheld console comes with more than 10,000 games from NES, Super Nintendo, Game Boy, Sega Genesis, arcade, and PlayStation 1, among others. It has a horizontal controller-style design, dual joysticks, a 3.5-inch IPS screen, and a replaceable battery that lasts up to 5 hours.

What to Check Before Buying a Retro Console

  • Design: horizontal, like a controller, or vertical, Game Boy style. In general, the horizontal design is more comfortable for games that use joysticks.
  • Consoles it emulates: 8-bit and 16-bit consoles and the PlayStation 1 run well on almost all of them. However, on Nintendo 64, PSP, or Nintendo DS, performance depends on the processor.
  • Storage: if you only plan to play the included titles, 64 GB is enough; if you want to add games, 128 GB is a better choice.
  • Battery: a replaceable battery extends the life of the console.
  • TV output: not all of them have it. For example, the R36H is designed to be played on its own screen.

It depends on the model, but almost all of them include games from NES, Super Nintendo, Game Boy, Sega Genesis, arcade, and PlayStation 1. Some also run Nintendo 64, PSP, or Nintendo DS, although in those cases performance varies depending on the processor.

It depends on the model. For example, the R36H doesn't have an HDMI output, so you play it on its own screen.
